7 Steps to Improve Your Airline Travel Experience
When we are ready to embark on an airline travel experience, there are some areas we can’t control like weather, transportation delays, and sporadic restless sleep. However, there are things we can do to make the travel experience more pleasant.
What is an Airline Travel Experience?
In plain English, an airline travel experience gives you the ability to experience the local culture in a new environment while traveling in a relaxed way.
What makes your airline travel experience pleasant is having a sense of balance between the feeling of being at home and the adventure of being in a new city or country.
In our previous article, we talked about how a travel agency can give its customers the best travel experience. In this article, we shall look at 10 ways a customer can improve, and ultimately enjoy, his airline travel experience.
Because of jet lag, it is important for a customer to stay hydrated. It is one of the key ways to reduce jet lag. So, drink a lot of water, avoid alcohol and take maximum care of your skin.
Have a Tech Kit
Instead of gathering up a whole bunch of cables around, have a tech kit that is always ready with everything – cables, chargers, adapters, etc. You don’t need to worry about forgetting anything. There’s nothing worse than worrying about your devices – especially when you are using them to stay connected and, of course, entertained.
Write/Read a Book
If you are traveling alone, it is expedient if you can do something engaging. Like read a book or be determined to write a certain number of words before you land.
While you are 35,000 feet in the air, there are other in-flight activities you can engage in. Read a magazine. Watch a movie. Play games. Or anything that only you like to do and instead of doing those things at home, when you are with friends and family, you can save them for your airplane “me” time.
To be candid, this is the most important part you should not miss. Anytime you travel, use it as an opportunity to practice taking photos using your phone or a digital camera. When in a new environment, you can take pictures of that environment, heritage sites, culture, food and many more. You can also write about your travel experience which you can share with your friends and loved ones.
Watch Local News
This may be a last resort as it is not that adventurous but you should read or watch the local news. It is fascinating to see what other cities are reporting and how they are reporting them. It breaks the familiarity of the local surroundings in a good way and challenges you to think about issues using a different perspective.
Try New Food
You should try a new delicacy whenever you find yourself in a new environment. Even if you end up not liking it, at least you have attempted and put yourself out there for a new experience. Having a taste of local dishes is the window to another culture. In fact, food is an important part of the travel experience.
Learn the Language
Learning a new language gets you connected to your surroundings more easily and profoundly, and it also gives you a good rapport with the locals which makes them see you as someone who respects their culture. Have the habit of learning at least the simplest and basic words of their language like, ‘hello’, ‘thank you’, and ‘excuse me’. It will surely help in the long run.
Your travel experience doesn’t have to be uncomfortable, nor does it have to be a boring and dull one. Finding the right routine, with a little bit of adventure, can actually make you look forward to your next trip.
