Hahn Air, Sabre partner on training Travel Agents in Lagos

Hahn Air, a German airline and distribution specialist, and the leading technology provider to the global travel industry, Sabre Travel Network, have been training some travel agents in the aviation industry about reservations and issuing of tickets on the Sabre GDS using the Hahn Air document.

The two-day training workshop held at the Sabre West Africa Headquarters in Lagos, Nigeria, emphasized on how travel agents should relate with their customers and guide them with the necessary information related to their travel needs and itineraries.

“For us, we don’t want passengers to know about Hahn Air. We are not interested in the passengers knowing about Hahn Air. We only want you, here in the room, to understand how we work,” Candy Kasonkomona, Hahn Air’s Global Account Manager, said.

“If you issue an Africa World Airline ticket on a Hahn Air document, please tell your passenger, this is an Africa World ticket, even it is issued on Hahn Air. Your passengers need to understand that when they are boarding the aircraft, they are boarding a commercial carrier but you’ve issued it on us,” she added.

Hahn Air gives travel agents access to airlines that are not available on GDS by making it possible to issue tickets. The German-based company similarly connects over 100,000 travel agencies with airlines across the globe.

Kasonkomona also shared more about the company’s products and services, its usage on the Sabre GDS and why the distribution specialist has limited the number of tickets travel agencies can issue.

“When you are issuing on Hahn Air, after a certain period of time, you get a message on your GDS that your limit has been reached. The reason is that travel agencies are being hacked. Hackers are now targeting you as travel agencies and issuing tickets when you are still sleeping.”

The Vice President III, Sabre Travel Network, West Africa, Hannah Ogunsulire, also lending credence to the workshop, implored the travel agents, yet to make use of the New Sabre Red 360, to start using the app as it is good and effective for their bookings, reservations, and issuing of tickets.

“I have worked in the travel agency before and it could take me three days to get a fare for one customer and close the deal. But with the Sabre Red 360, you save time and money,” Ogunsulire said.
